Cloud Solutions Consultant – Contract Position
Klouds Inc. is looking to add to our team of consultants who provide services for our clients on an as needed bases. We engage our clients from the beginning of the sales cycle, to installation and provide continued support. Many of our clients are small and medium size businesses that are rapidity growing and need expert advise on how to design, build and leverage their cloud infrastructure. The work that our consultants do, can often determine how successful a client will eventually be.
As a Cloud Solutions Consultant you would work directly with our clients, building a business relationship, managing client expectations and supporting their needs. Some projects are done remotely, while others are done onsite, so this consulting position will require travel, depending on the project. You must be comfortable scoping projects out, determining a timeline and put a cost behind the project.
All of our consultants must be able to communicate clearly and present themselves in a highly professional and polished manner at all times. In many cases you will be interacting with the IT department, COO and CEO of companies on a regular basis. Your success is largely measured from client feedback from the projects you work on.
To be considered qualified for this position, candidates must have:
Proffesional project management skills including requirements analysis, project scoping, problem solving, status reporting, technical analysis, and meeting tight deadlines.
Strong technical consulting skills including making recommendations in both written and oral form, leading training for clients and peers, understanding client work practices and showing initiative when confronted with urgent and complex technical dilemmas.
Strong collaborative and communication skills including working with internal cross-discipline teams, vendor engineering resources, and client technical leads.
Familiarity with organizational policies, business requirements for information security, contractual issues, and the regulations related to information security. - Should have some basic understanding of intellectual property issues, protection, and retention of organizational records and common compliance standards for information protection such as Sarbanes and PCI.
Required Skills:
5+ years providing operational support in a virtualization environment.
2+ years working in an organization in a consulting role.
VCP5 Certification.
MCITP + Security (required).
Expert Knowledge in Microsoft Window Server OS.
Experience with VMware ESXi/ESX 5, vSheild, vCloud Director and vCenter.
Knowledge of Windows server class operating systems, Red hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server and client technologies.
Expert knowledge of system and network management tool concepts.
Excellent knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, PXE, NAT and network related technologies such as LAN/WAN topologies, transports and routing.
Methods & Procedure Writing (examples will be requested)
Desired Skills:
Red Hat Linux Operating Systems.
Knowledge of network management protocols.
Knowledge of Unix, xml/web protocols, publish/subscribe technologies, or n-tier web based distributed systems and localization issues, and their use in a massively scalable environment.
Knowledge of wireline and wireless network architecture.
Solid experience supporting Agile and iterative methodologies.
5+ years of practical application & API deployment and support experience with large-scale service architecture.
Strong working knowledge of Network Protocols TCP/IP, RDP, TELNET, FTP.
